Wow, it looks like I took the whole month of October off from writing!

I got a little over-committed, over-extended, and overwhelmed.  Does that ever happen to you?

So, I wanted to share something that really helped me while I was feeling that way.  Over the years of my meditation practice, I have taken many different courses from many different teachers with a variety of approaches to meditation and mindfulness. 

I often credit my daily meditation habit as the most important thing I’ve done for myself over the past 10+ years of focusing on self-care, my health and well-being.

This program, Breathe With Me, Heal With Me, available through Insight Timer (one of my favorite mindfulness sites) and featuring davidji, is hands down THE BEST I have ever completed. davidji is a master of meditation and emotional intelligence, and an Ayurvedic healer.

Over the course of 21 days, in about 11 minutes per day, I learned not only the mechanics of proper breathing, and why that’s important, but much, much more. It starts with a self-diagnosis of the breath, and a description of the benefits of improved breathing.

Each day, he taught a different technique for breathing to help calm the nervous system, and slow down thoughts, the mind, heart rate, and overall physiology. And then, you practice together. It was an amazing experience, and I felt amazing after each session. I will definitely be repeating the program again soon.
